Perennial best treated as annual. Two-lipped flower on compact spikes. A versatile plant available in many colours and sizes. Dwarf type provide a stunning display when mass planted or spread throughout the garden, also ideal for containers. Remove spent flowers regularly, apply liquid fertiliser (low nitrogen) when in bud to encourage new flowers. Salt and wind sensitive.
